Only 1 Vacancy, National-Level Competition: CURAJ’s Research Fellow Post Closes Today

The Central University of Rajasthan's Senior Research Fellow recruitment for one post at Ajmer closes on 12 July 2026.

A single research position at a central university is drawing national attention. The Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), based at Bandarsindri in Ajmer, has invited online applications for one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post — and the deadline is today, 12 July 2026.

Eligible candidates need a postgraduate M.Sc. degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Botany, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Genetics, or a related field, with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent CGPA, plus a CSIR-UGC NET, UGC NET (Lectureship-eligible), or valid GATE qualification, and a minimum of two years of R&D experience.

Applications go in online via curaj.ac.in. CURAJ has flagged that with just one vacancy, competition is likely to be intense, and has urged candidates to complete their submission well before the deadline to sidestep any technical issues on the closing day.

The SRF role is time-bound and tied to an ongoing research project at the university, in line with how CURAJ typically structures its fellowship postings — a route many researchers use to build up their profile through a stint at a central university.

Pay for the position follows the norms of whichever agency is funding the underlying project — options include CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST or ICAR — with House Rent Allowance admissible per applicable rules; CURAJ notes that project-based fellowship posts like this one typically don’t carry an application fee.

Shortlisted candidates move through an interview or personal discussion stage, conducted in person or online, followed by verification of original certificates before the final offer — CURAJ has clarified that satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria alone doesn’t guarantee an interview call, given the volume of applications expected for one seat.
