Just 1 Vacancy: IIT Kanpur’s Chemistry Department Wants a THz Spectroscopy Researcher

IIT Kanpur's Department of Chemistry is hiring a Project Associate-I for THz spectroscopy research, applications open until 22 July 2026.

IIT Kanpur has opened applications for a single Project Associate-I position in its Department of Chemistry, tied to research work on Terahertz (THz) Spectroscopy, with the application window closing 22 July 2026.

To qualify, candidates need a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or alternatively a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Physics, combined with relevant computational research experience — molecular modelling, spectroscopic simulation, or theoretical/computational chemistry and physics work.

The application process runs entirely online through iitk.ac.in, under the institute’s Careers or R&D Project Positions section. IIT Kanpur has not prescribed any application fee for this post, based on the current notification.

Pay is set at a consolidated ₹30,000 per month, with House Rent Allowance available to candidates who live outside campus and aren’t provided institute accommodation. The position is based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

IIT Kanpur’s selection process starts with screening applications on qualification and research experience, moves to a personal interview (held online or offline), and concludes with final selection based on interview performance and academic suitability for the project.

This is a temporary, project-linked role — its duration depends on the funding and tenure of the underlying research project — and shortlisted candidates will be informed through the email and phone number given at the time of application.
